The authorities in Kabambiro Sub County of
Kamwenge district have launched an operation of arresting parents whose
children are not going to school. Schools opened for second term on 28th
May this year. However, some learners in Kabambiro Sub County have not reported
back to school.
As a result, the authorities led by the LC3
Chairperson Habasa Dozio and Mugisha Abasi the Officer in Charge Kabambiro
police post yesterday launched an operation and arrested six parents whose
children have not reported to school.
Others in the operation were parish chiefs.
Upon learning the operation, most of the parents ran a way in fear of being
apprehended. Sunday Deus the Parish Chief Nyamashegwa explains that most
children of school going age are used by their parents to give labor.
Habasa says the authorities will not sit
down until all the children go back to school.
