Kagadi secondary school students in fear, asks government punish Kidnapers|Vok News

Students in Secondary schools in Kagadi District have asked government to strongly punish  Kidnapers, murderers and violators of Children’s rights as a deterrent condition.

Some of the students who talked to our reporter during a one day students Seminar that coincided with the day of African Child at Uganda Rural development and training Program(URDT) in Kagadi town council Kagadi district over the weekend  said the escalating kidnaps, murder of innocent people and violators of children’s rights in Uganda should be severely penalized as a deterrent condition.

Sharon Atuhaire, a S.4 student of St. Margaret Mary’s  Muhorro Girls sss said, some  parents and school administration are to blame for being lax over serious issues. They should be on look out for their children and protect them as most kidnappers target pupils and students in schools and on their way home. She added that some children have been kidnapped on their way home in Kagadi town while others have been assaulted.

Mujuni Ategeka a student of Owobusobozi Itambiro sss, said child violations such as child labour, sexual harassments, defilement by responsible corporal punishments are responsible for school drop outs and academic failure and asked government through the judiciary   to severely punish the culprits as a deterrent measure.
