After having almost all the necessary requirements, the
head teacher Kamwenge secondary school Opoya Joseph is optimistic the school
will perform better.
Kamwenge secondary school is one of the government
aided schools in Kamwenge district which has been grappling with performance.
One of the reasons that had caused the school no to
perform better according to Opoya has been lack of enough science teachers.
He says that most of the science and other subject
teachers were part timers who were hired and paid on P.T.A funds.
Opoyo during an interview with our reporter said that
after submitting to the government through the district, the schools has
received more than 15 teachers most of whom are science teachers.
He says that all
the 26 teachers will be on the government payroll of which 15 have already
gotten their appointment letters and will access the payroll in July.
Joseph is optimistic that given time with all these
necessities the performance will double.
